ART 331 – Interactive Design I

ART 407 – Advanced Painting
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take ART-307. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Emphasis on more individual expression and solving a pictorial problem in a consistent, related series of paintings. Knowledge of contemporary concepts is stressed.

ART 301 – Figure Drawing
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take ART-203. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Intensive study of the human figure through studio sessions with models and through analysis of the drawings of the masters.
ART 307 – Intermediate Painting
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take ART-204 ART-207. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Specific problems in modern styles and methods, with emphasis on experimentation with acrylic techniques. Canvas construction and preparation.
ART 206 – Intro to Graphic Design
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Foundations of technology in the arts. Emphasis on the design, reproduction, and distribution of digital images.
ART 208 – Introductory Photography
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take ART-204. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Introduction to basic 35mm camera operation, black and white film processing, and darkroom procedures in enlarging and developing prints. Emphasis is on practicing technical skills and learning the basics of photographic composition.
ART 210 – Introductory Ceramics
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Processes and techniques in both wheel-throwing and hand building in the art and craft of pottery. Throwing leads progressively toward stoneware clay tooling, decorating, glazing, and firing. Special emphasis is placed on ceramics for teachers.
ART 218 – Introduction to Digital Photography
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Introduction to Basic Digital Photography including camera operations and computer image manipulations. Emphasis is on learning basic camera function, photographic compositions, and computer enhancement of photographic images.

ART 203 – Basic Drawing
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Introduction to the fundamentals of drawing in pencil, charcoal, and pen and ink. Emphasis on line, value, and proportion. Studio exercises from both still life and landscape sketching are included, as well as the basics of perspective.
