The Governor Robert E. McNair Institute for Research and Service at Francis Marion University is a campus-based research and service resource. The McNair Institute provides a collaborative setting for academic, research and outreach initiatives that strengthen the ties between the University and the greater community.
Origins of the Institute
Named The McNair Center at its founding, The McNair Institute is supported by the generous PSARAS Foundation and is named after former South Carolina Governor Robert E. McNair. Governor McNair was instrumental in the establishment of Francis Marion University and spent his career fostering dedication to education and public service.

The McNair Institute houses several exciting programs and initiatives including:
