Assistant Professor of Spanish (24-93)

Francis Marion University and the Department of Modern Languages invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish with expertise in Latin American language, literature, and/or culture. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Teaching responsibilities include elementary and advanced language, and cultural courses in translation. We especially welcome candidates with an interest in teaching Spanish for the professions.

The successful candidate should have completed all the requirements for the Ph.D. in Spanish before joining the faculty, although ABDs nearing completion of their degree will be considered. Teaching experience and an active research agenda in his or her field of expertise are also required. The successful candidate will assist in department activities and participate in other university service.

Francis Marion provides generous support for teaching, research and professional development. Summer research stipends are available on a competitive basis.
