Administrative Assistant -Foundation (24-64)

Francis Marion University and the Education Foundation office invite applications for an Administrative Coordinator who, under limited supervision, works closely with the Executive Director of the Francis Marion University Education Foundation. Coordinates and performs a diverse range of administrative duties and assists the Executive Director with the day-to-day management of the University’s Development and Education Foundation activities.  Works closely with the University offices of the President, Community Affairs, Athletics, and Student Life as it relates to the obligations of the Education Foundation to the University. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   

  • Day-to-day office management including coordinating mailings, maintaining office supplies, and interacting with the public.
  • Prepares and maintains reports, manuals, correspondence, appointments, calendars, invitations, etc. in support of the Education Foundation Office.
  • Maintains detailed records regarding alumni and other University donors. Requires the ability to produce informational queries quickly and accurately.
  • Planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of events and activities in support of the university and the Education Foundation. This includes working successfully with other offices at Francis Marion and within the community.
  • Procurement, budget management, and various licensing necessary for event implementation.

 State Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience.

FMU Preferences: Bachelor’s Degree required.  Ability to independently formulate long-range objectives while managing varied programs and services simultaneously.   Experience in event planning, database management, and office management.  Demonstrated experience with web-based services and publications. Successful work experience in a multi-faceted, dynamic organization is desired.

State Classification: Administrative Assistant (AA75)

Band/Level: 4/2

Salary: $36,322

Normal Working Hours:   8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday).  Weekends and evenings as required. Summer hours will vary.
