International Perspectives continues to be a success in 2023-24

The speakers included KeAnjane’ Govan, former Peace Corps volunteer, Jordan Lane, immigration attorney, Jennet Robinson Alterman, women’s rights advocate in South Carolina, and Astou Aw, FM alumna at GE Healthcare.
During their time at FMU, speakers stopped by different classes in various departments and provided insight into different issues and topics that were currently being discussed. Jennet Robinson Alterman discussed political structures in different countries in Dr. Lauren Perez’s Political Science 103 course, while Ke’Anjane Govan discussed gender roles in Togo, Africa in Dr. Mary Louis Nagata’s History 321 Family Gender/World History course.
Since its commencement in Spring 2023, the International Perspectives speaker series has reached more than 200 students at FMU, providing them insight into different career paths that would allow them to work at international level with their degrees.
International Programs has been awarded funding to continue the International Perspectives series for the Fall 2024 semester.
