Program Description
The Nurse Educator Certificate option is a series of three courses that provides graduate nursing students access to foundational courses in the discipline of nursing education. This fully online program prepares the MSN or DNP graduate to serve in an academic or clinical nurse educator role. Students must be admitted into an FMU graduate program and be concurrently enrolled in the FMU MSN/Family Nurse Practitioner or Doctor of Nursing Practice tracks. Graduates who complete this certificate program will be qualified to apply for national certification through the National League for Nursing.

Year 1: Coursework – Total 9 credits – Fully Online
Spring: APRN 604 Teaching and Learning in Nursing (3)
Summer: APRN 608 Clinical Nursing Education (3)
Fall: APRN 605 Curriculum Development and Program Evaluation (3)
