Francis Marion University crowns 2019 Homecoming king and queen

Francis Marion University’s 2019 Homecoming celebration culminated Saturday afternoon as a new king and queen were crowned.

Gabriel Hutson and Shiniyah Brown, both from Sumter, were elected king and queen of Francis Marion University’s Homecoming.

Hutson is a Biology major and was escorted by Francis Marion University Student Government Association President Connor Graham.

Brown is a Psychology major and was escorted by her younger brother, Hasan Munir.

Francis Marion also inducted a new member into its Athletic Hall of Fame in Laurie Niego Mancari (’02). Mancari is a former softball star who earned All-Conference and All-Region honors three times, in addition to be being named an All-American in 2002.
