FMU to hold Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremonies

Francis Marion University will hold commencement ceremonies for its Fall 2024 graduating class on Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14.

Both ceremonies will be held in the Smith University Center and include graduates from the university’s four academic schools and college. Each graduate will be allowed twelve guests, and a ticket is required for entry.

Guests without tickets may watch the livestream in Chapman Auditorium. The livestream will also be accessible online at www.fmarion.edu and on the FMU YouTube channel.

Students from the School of Business and School of Health Sciences will graduate during Friday evening’s ceremony. South Carolina Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette will serve as the commencement speaker and will receive an honorary doctorate of humanities. 

On Saturday morning, students from the College of Liberal Arts and the School of Education will receive their degrees. The commencement speaker will be Senior United States District Judge R. Bryan Harwell. Judge Harwell will also receive an honorary doctorate of humanities.

FMU President Fred Carter will deliver remarks during each ceremony.

The ceremonies are scheduled as follows:

Friday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m.: School of Business/School of Health Sciences

Saturday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m.: College of Liberal Arts/School of Education
