Description: This course is designed to prepare pre-service teacher candidates to teach reading and writing skills related to content subjects (i.e., Math, Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts) in an integrated manner. Methods and materials needed to promote reading achievement in content subjects will be examined by pre-service classroom teachers. This course will discuss the basic components of the reading and the writing processes and aid in the development of techniques to help students construct meaning from both expository and literature texts across the various disciplines.
