Most people view executive branch decision making as one person, the President, making the decisions. In fact, the presidency is a large organization, a big black box, with many people involved in the decision-making process. This course will look at the constitutional origins of the presidency, formal and informal sources of presidential power, and the presidency’s relationship with the legislative and judicial branches, and the federal bureaucracy.
