A brief introduction to the history of the language is included. Term paper required.
GERM 402 – Survey of German Lit From 1750
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take GERM-202. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Study of writers from 1750 to the present with emphasis on individual genres as they appear. Readings in German, class discussion in German and English. Some work with non-print materials such as film and video. Term paper required.

Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: A comprehensive review of linguistic structures and content examined in previous semesters. Reading and discussion of a variety of cultural and literary texts. Includes use of technology to increase exposure to the target language and cultures
GERM 300 – Professional German
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take GERM-202. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: An introduction to German used in business or other professional settings. Texts, video, and audiotapes provide instructional material. A project is required.
GERM 301 – Grammar & Composition
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Take GERM-202. (Required, Previous). Credit Hours: Min: 3; Max: Description: Grammar and structure review, German idioms, and composition in and out of class. Although expository prose will form the majority of written work, some creative writing will be introduced. Included will be sessions in reading German-language authors and writing summaries.
