FMU updates masking policy effective March 1
FMU updates masking policy effective March 1
Due to the reduction in the number of COVID-19 cases statewide and regionally, face masks will be required only in the following campus locations, effective March 1:
- Classrooms and instructional support service areas, to include the Writing Center, CASA, the Tutoring Center, and the Mathematics Lab.
- Medical facilities, treatment clinics, and the Testing and Counseling Center
- University/PDRTA transportation
Masks will no longer be required in hallways, dining, recreational, entertainment, social or study areas.
Individuals subject to isolation or quarantine restrictions will continue to follow the protocol prescribed by the campus COVID Office.
This policy applies to university facilities located on the main campus and at other locations (downtown, the Continuum, the Freshwater Ecology Center, the Griffin Athletic Complex, etc.).
The university will continue to monitor COVID transmission data for Florence and the surrounding counties. As cases continue to diminish, a further relaxing of these restrictions is likely in the near future.
Those who are more comfortable wearing face masks should continue to do so.
