The below websites will take you to resources that might be helpful as you look to apply for external funding.
CITI Program
Francis Marion University has a campus license for the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) which is “dedicated to serving the training needs of colleges and universities, healthcare institutions, technology and research organizations, and governmental agencies, as they foster integrity and professional advancement of their learners.” Faculty and staff can sign-up with their institutional email account and receive training certificates in a variety of areas including conflicts of interest, responsible conduct of research, FERPA, wildlife research, IRB, and IACUC.
CITI Program is utilized for both Conflicts of Interest training and Responsible Conduct of Research training. If you are applying for an NSF or PHS grant (including HRSA, NIH, and SAMHSA), you must complete both of these trainings using CITI Program. CITI Program Registration Tutorial
Grants.gov
Grants.gov offers a variety of educational resources to help in searching and applying for federal opportunities. The following may be of particular interest to those new in applying for federal grants:
National Science Foundation’s Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG)
The PAPPG is updated yearly by the National Science Foundation and outlines what applicants need to know when applying for NSF funding. They offer an annual virtual grants conference, and past conferences and webinars can be accessed online.
Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
HRSA has a variety of resources on their website including past conference call recordings, guides to managing your grant, and a workshop you can join.
SC Humanities Webinar
SC Humanities has a free webinar that outlines the grant writing process. SC Humanities staff also offer to review a draft proposal as long as it is sent at least two weeks before the application deadline.
SC Arts Commission
The South Carolina Arts Commission offers a variety of resources to potential grant applicants including monthly video conference sessions on a particular topic and one-on-one calls with grants staff.
