Francis Marion University and the Housing and Residence Life office invite applications for a Housing Operations Coordinator who, under limited supervision, is responsible for coordinating clerical tasks associated with assignments, accounts receivable, and residents’ accounts for Housing and Residence Life. The successful candidate will verify the payment status of student housing accounts and process housing charges.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates administrative processes for room assignment processes for fall and spring semesters and assists with summer school housing assignments.
  • Continuous review of student billing accounts.
  • Excellence in customer relations; high level of organization; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assists in coordinating the marketing and leasing plans for the residential facilities.
  • Maintains current understanding and proficiency with the housing management system.
  • Communicates with appropriate departments regarding maintenance and/or custodial work orders and scheduled work.
  • Maintains a listing of residential facilities inventory, damage and replacement costs, and current and ongoing maintenance projects.
  • Serves on the on-call operational rotation in conjunction with the professional staff on-call rotation to meet any needs that may arise after office hours.

State Requirements: Bachelor’s degree.

Francis Marion University Requirements:

Must have a valid and current driver’s license.

Must have the following skills/abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Read and comprehend instructions
  • Respond to correspondence
  • Produce short correspondence and memos
  • Accommodate the needs of students
  • Provide appropriate response during emergency housing situations
  • Move and lift furniture or other objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Visually inspect rooms
  • Climb (ascend and descend) stairs in multi-level buildings

Francis Marion University Preferences:

A master’s degree in business is preferred. Three to five years of related experience is preferred.

State Classification: Student Services Program Coordinator I (CB65)

Band/Level: 4/2

Salary: $36,322

Normal working hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm; evening and weekends as scheduled. Summer hours may vary.
