Associate Advising Director-Center for Academic Success and Advisement (24-89)

Francis Marion University and the Center for Academic Success and Advisement (CASA) invite applications for an Associate Advising Director. As a member of our advising team, the Associate Advising Director will provide academic counseling and guidance to undergraduate students.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Offering proactive advising to students who are learning about the university environment and are seeking a major and career path
  • Guiding students in creating plans of study and registering for courses
  • Encouraging students to utilize relevant campus services
  • Working with academically at-risk students identified via an early alert system
  • Collaborating with other campus services, including tutoring, counseling, and the career center
  • Participating in projects as initiated by the Associate Provost for Advising

 Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant area
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with college students

FMU Preferences:

  • Experience providing academic advising and counseling to university students
  • Experience working with first-generation college students
  • Enthusiasm for providing mentorship to students
  • Ability to motivate and provide guidance to at-risk student populations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn registration and scheduling software
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate timely responses within a busy environment.

Salary: $39,500 (Unclassified; Associate Academic Program Director [UE04])
