Student Conduct Coordinator (24-80)

Francis Marion University invites applications for a Student Conduct Coordinator who, under limited supervision, will assist in the Office of Student Life with the coordination of programming for the campus community and with the management of student conduct.

The Student Conduct Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serves as a member of the Dean of Students’ Office as a formal and informal administrative hearing officer in non-academic student misconduct cases.
  • Investigates, evaluates, and adjudicates grievances, complaints and allegations of student honor code violations.
  • Creates, assigns, schedules, follow-up, and will document student conduct case resolutions.
  • Assists with development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of the student conduct policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates conduct-hearing officer training workshops for faculty, staff, and student members.
  • Schedules, assigns, and participates in the Student Life Office on-call rotation for emergencies and other significant student-related issues.
  • Assists students in understanding their rights and responsibilities through outreach and training workshops within the campus community.

FM Preferences:

  • A master’s degree.
  • Knowledge and experience with student conduct processes used to resolve incidents with students by utilizing individual meetings, fostering personal growth, intellectual development, and civic responsibility.
  • Ability to positively motivate and encourage all students including those from diverse populations.
  • Experience with event planning and ability to successfully manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in advising students and working with student organizations in Higher Education.
  • Knowledge of, and proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.  Website content management is considered a plus.
  • Establish and manage the student conduct process and administration.
  • Work with the Vice President to revise the Student Handbook.
  • Coordinate efforts for alcohol and other drug education.
  • Prepare for, assist with, attend and/or preside over meetings, workshops, and activities related to civility, personal development, and hazing education.

State Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and experience in student services programs.

State Classification: Student Services Program Coordinator II (CB70)

Band/Level: 5/2

Salary: $45,000

The Student Life Specialist reports to the Vice President of Student Life.
