This course is both an assessment of what makes a song great and a workshop on writing great songs. This will cover cohesive and compelling lyrical structure, effective use of imagery, the power of metaphor, and how to write what you know. Also, covered will be effective harmonic structures and memorable melodies.

Finally, the course will discuss how to produce a proper songwriting demo and how to pitch songs to agents and publishers.
